Knowing what a label means - that's easy with the label online app of the CONSUMER INITIATIVE e. V. Just enter the name of the label or scan the barcode and you'll know if the label is recommended or not.
Organic, fair, energy-saving: Labels that indicate special properties of products can be found on almost all goods. They are intended to inform consumers about a particular benefit of a product. But by no means opens to everyone what is meant by a particular sign and whether it is reliable at all. With the help of the label online app, you can already look in the supermarket or department store to see if the label on your product is trusted or not.
The app accesses the website www.label-online.de, the largest portal to labels in German-speaking countries. Among other things, the labels are judged on whether they formulate a claim that goes beyond legal requirements, whether they are awarded independently and whether independent controls are carried out, and whether the entire process is presented transparently to consumers.

To find a label:

Label-online was financially supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the Federal Environmental Agency (UBA) in the years 2002/2003 and 2009 and by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in 2013/2014. In 2016 and 2017, the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection will take over the funding.
The app complies with usual data protection regulations. It neither accesses the contacts in the address book nor stores location data. No personal data is stored.
